ISPSR 2027 – Terms & Conditions
ISPSR 2027 – Terms & Conditions
40th International Symposium on Pediatric Surgical Research · 18–20 August 2027 · Zurich, Switzerland
1. Scope and Organiser
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern registration for and participation in the 40th International Symposium on Pediatric Surgical Research ("ISPSR 2027" or the "Congress"), taking place 18–20 August 2027 in Zurich, Switzerland.
The Congress is organised locally in Zurich under the scientific direction of the International Symposium on Pediatric Surgical Research (ISPSR) Board, in cooperation with the local organising committee (the "Organiser").
By registering for the Congress, the participant ("Participant", "you") accepts these Terms in full. If you register on behalf of another person or institution, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that the represented party accepts these Terms as well.
2. Registration and Payment
Registration is completed through the official ISPSR 2027 online registration form. A registration is only confirmed once full payment has been received.
Category | Notes |
|---|---|
Regular | Full access to scientific sessions and the exhibition area |
Resident / Trainee | Proof of full-time status may be requested at registration |
Accompanying Person | Does not include access to scientific sessions |
Early registration fees apply until the published early-registration deadline; the standard fee applies afterwards. Exact fees are published on the Congress website and are subject to applicable Swiss VAT.
Payment is accepted by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or bank transfer. Registration is not guaranteed until payment is confirmed, and the Organiser reserves the right to cancel unpaid registrations after the applicable deadline.
Registration includes access to scientific sessions, the conference programme and abstract book, a certificate of attendance, and the meals specified in the programme (lunches and coffee breaks), unless stated otherwise.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing (e-mail) to the Organiser. The following tiered policy applies, based on the date the cancellation is received:
Cancellation received | Refund |
|---|---|
Before the early-registration deadline | Full refund, less an administrative fee |
After the early-registration deadline, up to [X weeks] before the Congress | 50% refund |
Within [X weeks] of the Congress, or after the Congress start | No refund |
Substitutions (transferring a registration to a colleague from the same institution) are permitted free of charge upon written request.
Refunds, where applicable, are processed after the Congress. The Organiser is not responsible for any additional costs incurred by the Participant (e.g. travel or accommodation) as a result of a cancellation.
4. Abstract Submission and Presentation
Abstracts submitted for ISPSR 2027 must present original, unpublished work. By submitting an abstract, the submitting author confirms that all listed co-authors have agreed to the submission and to the content presented.
The scientific committee reserves the right to accept, reject, or request revisions to any submitted abstract, and to determine the format of presentation (oral or poster).
Presenting authors are expected to register for the Congress by the deadline specified in the abstract acceptance notice; abstracts whose presenting author has not registered by that date may be withdrawn from the programme.
Authors of accepted abstracts may be invited to submit a full manuscript for consideration of publication in Pediatric Surgery International, subject to that journal's own editorial process and submission guidelines. Presentation of an abstract at the Congress does not guarantee publication.
5. Programme Changes
The Organiser reserves the right to make changes to the scientific programme, speakers, session times, or venue where necessary, without this giving rise to any claim for compensation. Participants will be informed of material changes as soon as reasonably possible via the Congress website or by e-mail.
6. Liability and Insurance
Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel, health, accident and cancellation insurance for the duration of their trip to and stay in Zurich, including any applicable visa arrangements.
The Organiser accepts no liability for personal injury, loss of or damage to property, or any other loss suffered by a Participant before, during or after the Congress, except in cases of intent or gross negligence on the part of the Organiser, to the extent permitted under Swiss law.
7. Photography, Filming and Consent
Photographs and video recordings may be taken during the Congress for documentation, reporting and promotional purposes (including the Congress website, social media and future publications). By attending, Participants consent to being photographed or filmed in this context, unless they notify the Organiser in writing in advance or identify themselves to the on-site photographer/videographer as not wishing to be recorded.
Participants may not record scientific sessions (audio, video or photography of slides) without the prior consent of the presenting author and the Organiser.
8. Data Protection and Privacy
Personal data collected during registration (such as name, contact details, institution and dietary or accessibility requirements) is processed by the Organiser for the purposes of managing registration, communicating about the Congress, and compiling the list of participants, in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data is not shared with third parties beyond what is necessary to organise the Congress (e.g. the venue or a registration platform provider), except where the Participant has given separate consent (e.g. to be listed in the participant directory or contacted by sponsors).
A full privacy policy, including data retention periods and Participants' rights of access, correction and deletion, is published separately on the Congress website.
9. Force Majeure
If the Congress cannot take place, in whole or in part, due to circumstances beyond the Organiser's reasonable control (including but not limited to natural disaster, pandemic, war, civil unrest, governmental restriction, or venue unavailability), the Organiser may postpone, shorten, relocate, or cancel the Congress.
In such cases, the Organiser will inform Participants as soon as reasonably possible and determine, at its discretion, whether and to what extent registration fees already paid will be refunded, credited toward a future edition, or retained to cover costs already incurred. The Organiser is not liable for any other costs or losses (including travel or accommodation) arising from such a cancellation or change.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The exclusive place of jurisdiction for any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms is Zurich, Switzerland, to the extent permitted by mandatory law.
